DPI Change Calculator

Switch your mouse DPI and maintain the same base-game sensitivity with a simple ratio.

New sensitivity—decimal sensitivity
Same eDPI—effective DPI
QUICK ANSWER

What sensitivity should I use when changing DPI?

New sensitivity = old DPI × old sensitivity ÷ new DPI. If you double DPI from 800 to 1600, halve your sensitivity: for example, Valorant 0.32 becomes 0.16. This keeps eDPI and estimated cm/360 unchanged in the same game.

Why change DPI?

People change DPI for desktop cursor comfort, mouse hardware or preferred input granularity. This tool does not claim that higher DPI improves aim on its own. It only preserves the mathematical relationship between DPI and in-game sensitivity.

Real-world differences can remain if your mouse has acceleration, smoothing, non-raw input or unusual in-game rounding.

Frequently asked questions

Is 800 DPI to 1600 DPI a 2× sensitivity change?

Only if you keep the same in-game value. Halve the in-game sensitivity to retain the same eDPI.

Does this work with Fortnite percentages?

Yes. If Fortnite is at 10% and you double DPI, the matching sensitivity is 5%.

Does higher DPI make aiming better?

Not necessarily. eDPI alone is not an aim quality measure; check comfort, consistency and hardware behavior.
