CONCEPT GUIDE

DPI vs eDPI: What Changes?

The hardware number and the in-game number describe different parts of your aim setup.

QUICK ANSWER

What is the difference between DPI and eDPI?

DPI describes mouse counts per inch of physical motion. eDPI multiplies that DPI by the game sensitivity setting. DPI alone does not tell you how quickly the game view rotates; eDPI makes comparisons inside one game easier.

MeasureWhat it meansExample
DPIMouse counts per inch of physical travel800 DPI
In-game sensitivityMultiplier applied by the gameValorant 0.4
eDPIDPI × in-game multiplier320 eDPI
cm/360Physical mouse distance for one turnDepends on game yaw

How DPI changes affect sensitivity

If you increase DPI from 800 to 1600 but leave the in-game sensitivity unchanged, your eDPI doubles and cm/360 halves. To maintain the same modeled turn distance, reduce sensitivity by half.

What should you optimize?

Neither high DPI nor low eDPI is automatically more accurate. Choose comfortable mouse travel, verify input options and use a repeatable training routine. Only change one setting at a time.
